Michael, I was very fortunate and happened to be driving down River Rd. with my camera when the wisteria was blooming. I think it was bulldozed about a month later.

Cheri what a wonderful photograph. I grew up close to Elmwood Plantation. It was so beautiful, it saddened me when the grand home burned. voted and favorite

Mark, thanks for your thoughtful comment. I hadn't quite thought of it like that, but you are correct. It was springtime and the wisteria had taken over the ruins - very lush, vibrant and, yes, very alive.

Cheri, you photograph my home town of New Orleans in the way I wish I could! v/f Thank you for this gift of seeing N.O. through your lens. There used to be a fancy restaurant at Elmwood -- you probably know the history. Anyway, your composition is excellent in this and your other work, and I'll be visiting your site often. And thank you for your gracious comment about my watercolor screech owl.
