Spring blossoms with inspirational Bible verse.

The entire verse reads:
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17

No matter what a person follows in the way of religious or philosophical beliefs, one cannot but gain a sense of renewal as the earth comes alive again each Spring.

The plant shown is a branch of the Huisache, native of the Texas Hill Country, where it is often looked upon as a pest and can be quite invasive if left unattended. However, in early Spring the branches come alive with golden blossoms, which are quite fragrant and are used to make perfume. The small trees provide shelter for birds, and food for deer, javelina and quail. The wood itself can be used for firewood, fence posts and in tanning, dying, ink and glue.
