AnnaJo, its such a validation that you appreciated this one. Yes, it was exactly a focus on the momentary light, very much akin to the quote. Strangely enough, I was so focused on the moment that I found myself locked inside the cemetery as I was shooting those dwindling light rays. Fortunately, I found a way to drive my car out without resorting to a 911 call. Thanks for commenting.

Wonderfully composed and lit. I love the ribbon of light illuminating her side. The weathered colors and textures add a great deal to the image in seeming validation to your favorite quote. I love it.

Fay, Thanks for noticing this one. It was taken at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans. It is a beautiful place with incredible sculpture, row-upon-row of above ground crypts, lovely old live oak trees. It is such a nice park, that we sometimes take picnics there. Several of the other shots in my cemetery gallery are from this location as well.

Thanks a lot, Amy. I do realize how fortunate I am because I find New Orleans to be one of the most interesting places, and I never tire of its beauty and diversity. I appreciate your vote too!

This is just gorgeous, Cheri, especially with the light! I love cemeteries... the older the better. Lucky you, with all the beauty of New Orleans surrounding you! Voted. :)

Douglas, I am very complimented that this image touched an emotional chord in you. That's exactly the feeling that I got viewing the sculpture . . . the person left behind - longing to maintain a thread of emotion with the deceased.

How sad-I never want to be the last one standing-the one left behind!!! Great work Cheri, and you have inspired me to reconsider reloading my cemetery pictures which I removed some time ago!! You managed to capture the mood of the moment and solidified the same in your picture!!!
