Description
Constructed in 1819, the once grand home known as Arlington near Natchez, now stands in ruin after a devastating fire in 2009.
It has been abandoned to the elements of nature, inhabited only by woodland creatures seeking shelter as the lush jungle growth of Southern Mississippi encroaches. (See my other postings of Arlington to learn more about the architecture and history.)

Thanks, Lenore. I was considering submitting it to the Minimalism Photography Group. I'm glad that you like it and I certainly appreciate your v/f.

I love the distressed nature of the surfaces and the natural splash of colour in the otherwise monochromatic shot. Great image Cheri. :D .....v

Ann, I explored very cautiously and did not go upstairs. It is in heartbreaking condition, but visiting there, you can see how grand it once was even in its present decline. Thanks for commenting.
