Sandra, thanks for your thoughtful analysis. Yes, the structure of the castle ruin was located on a low rounded hill, the ruins were surrounded by a fortified wall enclosure into which one passed by the gate. The brilliant green that I found in Ireland has not been enhanced from the original photo, and provides an interesting contrast to the weathered stones. Thanks for such nice promotion of the photo!

I love this type of photographs depicting ruins of historical structure. This image is wonderful! The gated opening invites the viewer to enter in the bright green natural beauty. Also, this grass entrance seems to be the top of a mall hill and one is left wondering, because of the perspective created in the photo showing what seems to be a farther stone wall structures.
