Hello Cheri, I was just amazed, haunted by the similarity in our gallery's there is a passion in your work that astounds me. This photo is home, being a local resident of New Orleans, Louisiana I see this scene everyday. I ride the St. Charles Avenue St. Car everyday to the work. And spend time at my favorite coffee house on St. Cars Avenue. The St. Car and the grand Columns Home now a Hotel is just amazing, The framing of this photo is ideal, and the composition is suburb. Bravo, Bravo, Bravo while viewing your gallery I had a glimpse of my life pass me by....Cheers and tis the season here in New Orleans, Louisiana Happy Mardi Gras, Michael Hoard this is one of my F/V

Cheri Randolph replied:

Hi Michael, Thanks for your very generous compliment and support of this photo. For someone who sees this scene daily to say that I have captured it well, is a superlative compliment. I suppose that it is inevitable that there is some overlap in our photographs since we are in the same location. Happy Mardi Gras to you as well, and thanks for visiting.

Artist's Description

Streetcars in New Orleans have been an integral part of the city's public transportation network since the first half of the 19th century. The longest of New Orleans' streetcar lines, the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar, which travels over 13 miles and is the oldest continuously operating street railway system in the world. There is no better way to see New Orleans than on the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar

The St. Charles Avenue Line starts uptown, at South Carrollton Avenue and South Claiborne Avenue. It runs on South Carrollton Avenue through the Carrollton neighborhood towards the Mississippi River, then near the river levee turns on to St. Charles Avenue. It proceeds past entrances to Audubon Park, Tulane University and Loyola University New Orleans, continues through Uptown New Orleans including the Garden District, and ends at Canal Street in the New Orleans Central Business District at the edge of the French Quarter, a distance of about seven and a half miles.
