Cheri, the unusual Celtic cross in the foreground captured my attention and curiosity. Being a Presbyterian myself, the form of the one in stone is the familiar cross, so I wonder about the origin of the metal cross. The wind in the grasses brings to mind the Spirit present in this place...a sacred spot. I so appreciate your beautifully perceptive comments I have read on so many images on the FAA site, which often help me to see the image more fully or from a new perspective. If you aren't already a professional art critic, I think you easily could be...a wonderfully supportive one! Thank you!!! :-))) f/v

Barbara, wow, I am humbled by your most generous compliment on my photograph and my comments. I am not familiar with the origin of the metal crosses, but I saw quite a few while in Ireland. You are correct about this location having a very spiritual feeling. The Island is such a small place surrounded by the ocean with a constantly blowing wind. You do have the feeling of being connected to the universe there. I suppose my comments are the result of my Art History studies, where we were required to analyze and critique works for tests and research papers. Thanks for such a nice compliment - it's nice to know that people find them helpful.

Branko, I just saw your earlier comment. Thank you for such a thoughtful interpretation. You do get just that feeling while standing there. I appreciate the generous support.

Love it!!! Being of Galician origin, a Celtic region of Spain...it feels close to home :-)

beautiful photos, I love the form of the cross... wind and the grass ... enhancing the effect of passing time while the cross is there for centuries ...v&f

Wonderful capture of these two very different styles of Celtic Cross and the setting in which you found them, Cheri. f/v
