Rory, thanks for such a thoughtful comment. I, too, am usually drawn to representational images and rarely do abstracts. However, I relish the discovery of "natural" abstracts. This is actually a photograph, so the reason you get the impression of layers being peeled away is because that's what it is. This is a close-up of a rusted Chevy door that I discovered at the Wagon Wheel Motel in Cuba, Missouri. I sincerely appreciate your compliment and your support of this image.

I was immediately drawn to this piece in your gallery...which is interesting because I usually relate more to representational images as opposed to abstracts, but this is absolutely gorgeous! The combination of colors and textures is really beautiful and the contrasting darker areas create a wonderful depth and just pull you right into the painting. It really evokes the sense of layers being peeled away, or a natural process of breaking down, to reveal a deeper dimension and meaning. v/f

Hi Steve, I suppose that this image with the competition between red and black color might be interpreted as symbolic of your balance sheet after the Federal Government assault. Unfortunately, I can entirely sympathize at this time of the year. Thanks for supporting my art though - I appreciate it.

This captures the feel of stress perfectly, Cheri! I just learned I owe the government $4,000 in taxes and this is precisely the way I feel...sigh. :) v/f
