The subject is beautiful bit the skill of the photographer is to see the shot before you take it. Humility is wonderful but in this case it would be like telling a Chef he is a good cook because he has good pots and pans. George

Cheri, this has to be the most gorgeous tulip I have ever laid my eyes upon! I had a few dark parrots this spring, but this one is like a kaleidoscope of beautiful color and design. Lovely macro! fave, vote, tweet, FB, and g+1 on this outstanding display of natural beauty!

Robert, Thanks for your compliment! I took this photograph at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas this Spring where they had a display of blooming flowers from Holland. I live just a few blocks from Tulane, and you are correct it isn't likely that this would be blooming in New Orleans.

Cheri, that is the most awesome flower that I have ever seen. What a fantastic eye you have. (I graduated from Tulane in 1987 and never saw a Tulip like this ever in New Orleans)..
